The SCB BEAR Award is a triannual recognition aimed at honoring Southern California Ballet students who exemplify the four core values of Southern California Ballet: Balance, Excellence, Acceptance, and Respect. This award serves not only to acknowledge individual achievements but also to inspire all students to embrace these values both in and out of the studio. Recipients of the BEAR Award demonstrate a commitment to fostering a supportive community, pursuing their artistic growth with dedication, taking responsibility for their actions, and treating others with kindness and consideration.
In the spirit of SCB and in alignment with our goal to produce not just great dancers but great human beings, The BEAR award is community nominated, meaning that anyone in the SCB community or outside of it can nominate an SCB student to receive the award for actions that demonstrate our core values anywhere. At the end of each period all nominations will be reviewed and winners will be picked. Winners will be announced to our whole community and receive a small monetary prize.
